~ The Undiscovered Sonnet ~

He snatches me from death on Klingon snow
He cradles me, and breathes that I am safe
I pause, for it will shock my love to know
Betrayal by his brilliant little waif

Two crewmen lay in blood upon the floor
The treachery is tidy and compact
No longer can our honest minds ignore
Valeris is the one behind this act

We lie in Sickbay, waiting for the girl
She slithers in, her phaser poised to strike
Spock flicks the light, arising with a whirl,
"You have to shoot!" A prospect I don't like--

How dare she come between me and my friend
"I'd just as soon you didn't," I append.
