"I do not understand," Spock said, looking forlornly at the bundle in his hands. "I was made to understand it was traditional."

Sighing, Kirk moved a little closer, and put his own hands around his lover's. "Yes and no, Spock." He smiled, and gently took the long stems from the rather firm grip in which they were held. "It's just that..." He eyed the thistles critically. "Roses would generally be considered a more traditional choice."

Spock remained silent for a moment, before an eyebrow rose languidly. "Are you going to try to explain 'Romantic' to me again, Jim?"
