The Admiral had heard of her illness and stubbornly gone to retrieve Spock, bringing him home to Vulcan. Now, Amanda got to watch the pair spend a few days leave together, with no duties to distract them from their difficult union. It made her feel a keen happiness to see that her son had found a match as good for him as hers with Sarek was for herself.
